Originally, the sloping lot made placement of the owner’s hot tub difficult with the existing deck. A narrow catwalk led from the main deck on the downhill side of the house, to the hot tub set on the ground in a similar position where it currently is. By removing the narrow walk way, tying into the main deck and expanding considerably the square footage, we were able to create an expansive entertaining space, an easily accessible area for the hot tub with a spectacular view, and an outdoor shower. The shower frame is seen on the uphill side of the deck. It was completed after these photos were taken. The hot tub rests on a reinforced concrete slab

West Hill designed the deck, did all site work, and the construction of the deck.
